Cosmos Music Group/Altara and Spotify proudly present a unique classical partnership:
-Putting classical music on the digital map-
World renowned brothers Peter and Patrik Jablonski are recognized as some of the finest concert pianists. Apart from being musicians, they run their own record label Altara – a true classical treasure. Cosmos Music Group/Altara in cooperation with Spotify are proud to present the exclusive compilation “The Year” – 365 classical masterpieces.
By and large, the CD format has been the dominant source of classical music consumption. This in combination with the relatively small window classical music is given in today’s pop culture society became the starting point of the Jablonski brothers’ vision of how to reach out with the Altara catalogue to the broader masses. Being live since January 1st 2011, Cosmos Music Group/Altara in cooperation with Spotify, are proud to present the exclusive compilation “The Year” – a release that definitely puts classical music on the digital map.
”Our ambition was to establish a closer collaboration with an international partner, and Spotify was the perfect partner to reach out to. During 2010, the decision was made to create a 365 piece compilation, where each track reflects the current season and day.

Throughout 2011, having started January 1st, Spotify Sweden, Norway, Finland, Great Britain and Spain will highlight and promote one track each day from “The Year”.
”We are delighted to increase our focus on classical music during 2011 together with Altara,”

More on the Jablonski brothers:
Peter and Patrik Jablonski have been active musicians since early days, and are now seen as some of the finest concert pianists in the world. Patrik debuted at the age of eight at the Stockholm Concert Hall, and Peter debuted at the age of nine, but as a drummer. He performed at that young age with great artists such as Buddy Rick and Thad Jones, and even got praised by legendary Miles Davis. Peter’s interest in the classical music scene eventually took over, and by the age of eleven, he made his “real” debut. His first public performance with an orchestra took place the following year, where he played Mozart’s piano concert G, K.453.
Later on, the Jablonski brothers began their studies at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. Ever since, they have worked with artists, orchestras and conductors around the globe, such as; Philadelphia PHILARMONICS, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, DSO Berlin, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Kirov, Tonhalle Zurich, Orchestre Nationale de France, La Scala Philharmonic and NHK Tokyo, conducted by greats such as; Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniele Gatti, Kurt Sanderling and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
