Nordic independent entertainment company Cosmos Enterprises (which owns the biggest indie label in the territory - Cosmos Music Group) is now moving into the live music business as it launches a newly started limited company called Cosmos Live.
Renowned live music entrepeneur Kattis Blom has taken on the role as Managing Director for the company. Blom has a long and solid experience from the live music industry - with a CV that includes positions at EMA Telstar, Live Nation and Lifeline Entertainment and from working with many of the biggest artists in Sweden.
The Cosmos Live owner structure also includes A&R veterans Klas Lunding and Isse Samie (Lykke Li, Håkan Hellström, Kleerup, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Stina Nordenstam, Graveyard, The Caesar's, Serenades, Titiyo, Deportees, I'm From Barcelona and many more) along with long-time nightclub boss Conny C. Lindström. Lindström’s 1200-capacity restaurant, bar and rock club - Strand - opened two years ago and is already the Stockholm venue of choice for many big Swedish and international artists, among them Robyn, The Magic Numbers, John Grant, Leila K, Neneh Cherry and Peter, Bjorn & John. Samie, Lunding and Lindström will all sit on the board for Cosmos Live.
The company will operate in all areas of the live business; exclusive artist representation, the production and promoting of concerts, tours and festivals. Cosmos Live is currently also setting a merchandise arm up along with preparing a move into the ticketing business.
"I am very excited to once again help build a completely new independent live music company from scratch”, says MD Kattis Blom.
All resources that already are in place at Cosmos Music Group - administration, accounting, logistics, promotion, marketing, sales, digital and social media - will now be made available to Kattis Blom in order to make sure that Cosmos Live can offer its artists the strongest possible independent alternative from day one.
”Live music is a rapidly growing part of the music business”, says Cosmos Enterprises’ chairman Fredrik Ekander. ”And there are a lot of things that can be done in terms of new, exciting and innovative music productions in Sweden. We have the resources, the ideas and the experience to be at the forefront of this. Kattis' long and proven track record along with her extensive network of contacts coupled with the administrative, promotional and financial resources that our organisation can offer, makes Cosmos Live an attractive partner for new and established artists alike", concludes Ekander.
Cosmos Live will be representing artists from all labels - indies as well as majors - and will work closely with artist managers, music publishers, promoters, venues and commercial partners to produce, present and promote live music. The entire focus of Cosmos Live now lies on creating new live careers, new live concepts and new live events to be enjoyed by as many music fans as possible.
Cosmos Live is currently negotiating with a number of Swedish and international artists for representation from 2012 and onwards.
