A lot has happened since Jasmine Kara released her debut album about 2 years ago. The young girl with the amazing voice with tones of blues has started writing her own material and developed both musically and lyrically. February 20th she’ll make an exclusive performance at the Swedish Grammy awards with her brand new single Can’t Lie To Me.
Jasmine Kara’s first album was a collection of classic r’n’b-covers with a dance floor take on it, but when it was time to start working on her second album, Jasmine felt that she was ready to start doing things her own way. With Aretha Franklin, Tupac Shakur and 00-century pop blasting through her headphones, she grabbed a guitar and wrote over 150 songs in less than a year. With a whole bunch of new material she started commuting between London, New York and L.A. to finish the songs along with a few different writers, producers and artist. The first single Can’t Lie To Me was written and recorded in L.A. together with Scott Stevens and Daniel Damico. It’s a pop hit with a club feeling and a hard driven beat that gives the finger to all men promising more than they can live up to. The lyrics and Jasmine’s sharp voice has an attitude that matches girl power-artist such as Beyoncé, Azealia Banks and Swedish Icona Pop.
With a new sound, new look and a whole lot of energy, Jasmine Kara is ready to once again convince us all that nothing will stop her.
